The Brainjo Fingerstyle Workshops
The Brainjo Virtual Classroom is a new resource (Dec. 2018) available to Breakthrough Banjo members.
In these workshops, we’ll be going in depth into essential topics for the fingerstyle banjo player, with particular focus on common stumbling blocks, and areas that are underrepresented in traditional instruction.
We will also use these as a means of supplementing and reviewing topics covered in the teaching modules inside the course.
Workshops will take place right here, and will broadcast in the video feed above. You will also find supplemental materials (tabs, etc.) to download on this page. A direct link to this page can be found at the very top of your Member home page.
To attend, all you need do is show up here. If you cannot make it at the scheduled time, you will still be able to view the workshop after it is completed, as it will be added to your course materials.
Below is the current schedule of topics – specific times will be added, and the upcoming workshop date and time will always be listed at the top of this page.
More will likely be added based on what’s needed. The tune tutorials will take you through working out a tune by ear, using the format of prior Ear Laboratory installments.
To that end, if there’s a specific topic you’d like to learn more about, please suggest it below.
Next Workshop: Song Tutorial “Walking Cane”
In this workshop, I’ll walk through the process of how to play “Walking Cane” entirely by ear, using the approach outlined in the 3-part “How To Play By Ear” series of modules.
